Oops! I was afraid this was going to happen.

So a year ago my friend sent me the idea to adopt a Christmas Elf straight from Santa. Santa sent "Glitter" the elf to stay with us during the Christmas season. Glitter has a set schedule that can't be mixed up. He sleeps very soundly all day long and then at night he is awake and since he's all alone, he tends to find himself in trouble. He's toilet papered our tree, hung underwear from our tree, dumped out all the movies, played Master Chief's X-Box and Mama's Wii, dug into all our kitchen towels and made quite the mess with those and colored a picture. I'm sure there was more, but I can't remember them all! Anyway, on Christmas Eve when Santa comes, Glitter tells Santa if Kermit and Miss Piggy have been good or not. Then he takes Glitter back to the North Pole for the rest of the year to help make toys.

Well, this last Christmas Santa came and took Glitter home with him. Thank goodness because Kermit was getting tired of cleaning up after him! This afternoon, Kermit was getting into trouble and going through Mama and Master Chief's closet. All the sudden he came running out and guess what he found!!! GLITTER!!! So now the kids want to know how he got there? Did he fly into my room? How long has he been there? What is he doing here? Why isn't he helping Santa make toys? When will he go home?

So, in case anybody is wondering, Kermit and Miss Piggy will be receiving a letter from Glitter tonight explaining that since he is magic, he magically entered our house, that he came Sunday night, and that Santa sent him because he was concerned with the way Miss Piggy was talking to her mommy and wanted to be sure that Kermit was following directions. After he writes this letter, he is going to magically leave Tuesday night to go tell Santa how Miss Piggy and Kermit are behaving.

Then of course Master Chief will be sure that Glitter does magically disappear so this doesn't happen again!

Don't you hate it when they catch on to things? The letter is a great idea to drive home some points! I may have to steal your "Glitter" idea. My boys could certainly use the motivation!

What a fun idea! I think Glitter's letter will help with the questions & hopefully the unwanted behavior! I am wishing I had a Glitter too!

Rofl!! Alright. A confession. I totally didn't bring out the elf this year until two nights before Christmas. And my kids couldn't have cared less when he arrived at our doorstep. And then I got busy and tired and forgot to have the elf create mischief that night. So...yeah. I win the prize for the lamest mom EVER.
