Off to the Laundry Races

The kids and I have a fun game we play... we laundry race.

While I was on bedrest I couldn't fold laundry or put it away because I was flat down and not able to be sitting up for long periods of time. I had to teach my then 4 year olds to do their own laundry. They were very good at it and I figured, why stop a good thing when I recovered! So my kids do their own laundry. After I wash and dry it, they pile it in the living room and get started. Who likes to fold laundry though? And putting it away is even worse! These laundry folding sessions became pains in our sides until I came up with laundry races. Okay, it's bribery, but it works!

While the kids fold their laundry I fold Baby Girls laundry and we race. Laundry has to be folded and put away to win. It's Mama against Kermit and Miss Piggy. Mama also has to hang their shirts after they put them on the hangers.

I have never won. I've tried, honestly! Usually I have an extra load to fold, making it easier for them to win, but the one time I had only Baby Girls clothes, I still lost.

So what do they win? Usually lunch out with Mama or half price Happy Meals at McDonalds on Tuesday nights.

This morning Master Chief and Mama raced the kids. We still lost. Guess what we get for dinner tomorrow!

I found your blog from some of our other cousins and have loved reading it! You have a very cute family, Jami!

Too cute, Jami! You better get your folding skills honed in or you'll be eating McDonald's for the rest of your life. I love that you got the kids to help with the laundry, though!
